Fees & Expenses

Fees

Mediation: $5,000 per day or part thereof. No additional charge for pre-mediation preparation.

Arbitration, and other assignments: $500 per hour for all hours worked.

Travel time: No charge for travel time to/from venues in AZ, CA, NV, NY, OR, WA.

Deposits are required, normally 45 days before the first hearing date.

Expenses

Expenses, if any, are billed at cost. Deposits may be required for unusual expenses. For international travel (flights of 4 hours or more) business class tickets will be requested.

Cancellation/Postponement Policy

For time commitments of 5 days or less, deposits for fees/expenses must be made no less than 45 days before the first scheduled hearing date. If dates are canceled or postponed for any reason and notice is received less than 30 days before the first hearing date, a fee of $2700 per scheduled day is immediately payable. Income from replacement work for the scheduled days will be credited.

For longer commitments, a "sliding scale" approach is used. For example, if a 15-day hearing is booked, deposits might be due 75 days before the first hearing date and the cancellation postponement fee "trigger" date might be 60 days before the hearing. On longer cases,  appropriate arrangements are negotiated.
